WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH UNDERWATER?
I had this idea about 12 years ago to photograph people underwater as if they were in the studio. When I bought my equipment people thought I was a little strange and perhaps I am. I have always found the juxtaposition of the natural environment with humans important. Jaques Cousteau once said that "People will protect what they love." So few people have seen the underwater world and often its depicted as an alien environment. This is the environment that we co-exist with and one that we have major influence over. My hope is to get viewers to love The Ocean as much as I do. Maybe we can all make a difference if we share the same love.
